"BUBBA" (Herb Birch)
"Bubba" has played music all his life with his brothers. They played for hours every week of their childhood at neighborhood parties and family gatherings. Bubba then played with several South Jersey banjo bands and sat in with many country and blues groups around the country. Most recently, he became hooked on the blues during frequent visits to Bourbon Street where he played with The Rooster and his band The Chicken Hawks. Upon Retirement as Chairman of the Board of the Birch & Davis Family of Corporations, a large health care management company, Bubba Has been gracing the stage of The Bubba Mac Shack & Stages around the Country.
RICHIE BAKER
With a gravelly voice and twinkle in his eye Richie Baker has been a professional musician since the l960s. Richie started playing when he was sixteen years old. He played in, and was lead vocalist for several bands including The Rogues and The Emeralds. His bands played back up and opened for many popular groups such as the Dovels, Ruby and the Romantics, and Chuck Berry. Richie has written several songs for the band including his from-the-heart crowd-pleaser, "Thank You Baby. " In addition to musical talent, Richie is the lead dancer of the band whose infectious moves get the crowd rockin’.
TERRI SHOWERS
Lead singer Terri Showers began singing at the age of three when her grandmother, Dr. Rozelia Cobb (Choir director of the Macedonia Church in Ocean City NJ) recognized Terri’s power to move people with her voice. In 1997, Terri won several competitions at Harlem’s world-famous Apollo Theater. She was selected as Apollo’s Rookie of the Year and joined the Apollo World Tour. She has sung for the Queen of England and the President of the United States. Devoted to her family and community, Terri works at the Charter Tech High School for the Performing Arts and is a local leader in the movement for family values.
KAREN LOGAN-GRAHAM
Karen began performing at age 5in her father's Baptist Church. She went on to sing in many Churches throughout New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia including the New York Cathedral. Karen attended Norfolk State University where she majored in music.
Karen's past performances include commercial voiceovers and appearances with Donna Summer and Barry Manilow. She's performed at New York's famous Apollo Theatre and Club Harlem. In addition to singing in the Bubba Mac Blues Band, Karen is a member of the Gospel Choir, Total Praise. Total Praise performs at various Churches in Southern New Jersey.
LEW LONDON
Lew is a singer-songwriter-musician-arranger. Lew co-wrote, recorded and traveled with Grammy award winner Steve Goodman, author of "CITY OF NEW ORLEANS." His highly acclaimed solo album won rave reviews in Cue Magazine, Playboy Magazine, and The New York Times. Lew was a candidate for Guitar Magazine's "Guitar Player of the Year" in 1977. His album "Swingtime In Springtime" has recently been re-released in Japan by EM Records. Heperforms as a special guest in the Jimmy Buffett¹s band "Island Fest" tour. Lew's solid guitar and violin never fail to win over audiences.
MIKE CONTI
Mike is a twenty year pro in the Philadelphia/South Jersey music community. With roots firmly planted in R & B, Mike has held down the bottom end for many successful acts and has performed throughout the United States and abroad.
CHRIS SOOY
Chris's high voltage style compliments the electric energy in the Bubba Mac Blues Band. While many beginning piano players learned classical, Chris was weaned on the traditional styles of Scott Joplin and Jelly Roll Morton.Although blues has become trendy, Chris' powerful blues style piano comes from tradition. Philadelphia Magazine chose Chris¹s band as "1991 Dixieland Band of the Year." Chris' critically acclaimed swing band was chosen Best Band in Philadelphia. John Corr from the Philadelphia Inquirer stated, "The cream of the crop... I was flattened by this group." Watching Chris perform with the Bubba Mac Blues Band, it's easy to see that he is a perfect fit.
